Rough Day is a daily front page for Tech & AI, World, and Finance that says why each story ranked. Each edition considers reporting from the previous 24 hours and publishes up to six stories per section. Every story carries a short summary, a note on why it ranked, and a link to the original article or post, so you can scan the day and open only the sources you need. Newspapers have been called the rough draft of history since at least 1905, and Rough Day files one draft a day. Reading is free and needs no account.

Use Rough Day when you need today's or recent ranked stories in Tech & AI, World, or Finance, a short source-linked summary of what this archive selected, the rules for how those selections are made, or an original correction or analysis.

## Evidence and limits

Each story shows its date, category, rank, title, and source site. Opening it adds the summary, topics, why it ranked, and links to the source.

Do not use Rough Day when you need a live wire, the full text of a source article, a public query API, an MCP server, OAuth, webhooks, GraphQL, or a commerce checkout. Authenticated digest routes under `/api/` are ingestion jobs, not a public reading API. The archive leaves out many important stories.
